Last year, Delgaz Grid directed over 1.42 billion lei (about 282 million euros) to its 1,280 service, product and works suppliers and invested over 1.24 billion lei (about 247 million euros) in the modernization and expansion of electricity and natural gas distribution networks, according to the Sustainability Report for 2025.
It is important to emphasize that approximately 97% of the suppliers to whom the orders were directed are companies from Romania, the total value of payments to them exceeding 1.38 billion lei (about 274 million euros). Thus, the company supports the development of supply chains, the business environment and companies in its area of operation. In addition, 39 new suppliers were prequalified based on social and environmental criteria.
Delgaz Grid operates one of the most important energy infrastructures in Romania, consisting of approximately 63,000 km of electricity networks and over 26,000 km of natural gas networks, through which it ensures the distribution of energy for approximately 3.6 million household consumers and companies.
During 2025, the company distributed 24.9 TWh of natural gas, an increase of 4.6% compared to 2024, and 4.9 TWh of electricity, a similar amount to the previous year, contributing to the functioning of economic activities and the development of communities in the region.
With a number of approximately 5,500 employees, Delgaz Grid is among the most important employers in the energy sector. The E.ON Romania Group, of which Delgaz Grid is part, maintained its second position in the ranking of the most appreciated employers in the industry, according to the study “The most desired employers in 2025”, conducted by Catalyst Solutions, and the undelecurăm.ro platform.
Investments of over 1.24 billion lei (247 million euros) in energy infrastructure
Of this amount, over 700 million lei (139 million euros) were allocated to the electricity distribution network, and over 545 million lei (108 million euros) to the natural gas distribution infrastructure.
Among the most important projects completed are: the modernization of 492 km of electricity networks; 476 substations and 3 transformer stations; replacement of 436 km of natural gas pipelines and connections; expansion of the infrastructure by over 700 km of electricity networks and approximately 320 km of natural gas networks.
In total, the company has modernized over 900 km of networks and added approximately 1,000 km of new infrastructure.
Constant investments in the modernization and digitalization of electricity distribution networks continue to translate into tangible benefits for the approximately 1.6 million customers in the Moldovan area. According to the ANRE report on performance indicators for 2025, the company records, for the fifth consecutive year, the best performance in Romania in terms of continuity of electricity supply.
Since entering the local market in 2005, the company has invested over 2.2 billion euros in the modernization and expansion of electricity and natural gas networks.
Smart grids for the integration of renewable energy
At the end of last year, approximately 38,700 prosumers were connected to the network operated by Delgaz Grid, and the capacity of renewable energy production facilities connected to the network reached approximately 1,400 MW.
The company continued its digitalization program, with the number of installed smart meters exceeding 651,000, of which over 106,000 were installed in 2025.
In parallel, Delgaz Grid continued the implementation of strategic projects such as ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management System) and the European CARMEN project, aimed at increasing the flexibility, resilience and efficiency of the energy infrastructure.
Innovation for the energy infrastructure of the future
The company continued the development and testing of solutions dedicated to the use of hydrogen and green gases in the distribution infrastructure. The projects carried out aimed at the evaluation of natural gas and hydrogen mixtures, the injection of biomethane into networks and the analysis of the possibilities of using hydrogen in dedicated infrastructures. These initiatives contribute to the development of the expertise and technologies necessary for future low-carbon energy systems.
Promoting responsible energy use
The despre-energie.ro platform, developed by Delgaz Grid, attracted over 311,000 visitors in 2025, 71% more than the previous year. Through the information and resources made available to the public, the platform supports the efficient use of energy and contributes to increasing consumer awareness.
