The approach to the field of electricity production and consumption is based on four pillars, decarbonization, decentralization, digitalization, and distributed energy production, stated Cristian Athanasovici, Business Development Manager at Kawasaki Europe.

Cogeneration is a support solution for the renewables. “There should be a mix between energy solutions, which means we should combine cogeneration with renewables to secure the resources for all different kinds of needs at all times”, he pleaded at the round table “Regional Approach Athens – Cooperation”, organized by Energynomics.

He added that the company’s industrial equipment is ready to use 30% hydrogen, and starting from this year, some specific equipment is ready to burn 100% hydrogen.

Kawasaki has adopted a roadmap for hydrogen with solutions for distributed power generation. In view of the targeted global decarbonization, many units of energy generation from renewable sources are needed.

To achieve this goal, however, accumulators are needed in the form of storage batteries for electricity or heat accumulators for thermal energy to come into operation when renewable energy is unavailable.

The working table “Regional Approach Athens – Cooperation” was organized by Energynomics with the support of our partners: Elektra Renewable Support, Kawasaki Gas Turbine Europe GmbH, Parapet GmbH, TUV Nord, WALDEVAR Energy.
