We continue our presentation of the competitors for the Energynomics Awards with the “Corporate social responsibility” section. The projects submitted in 2025 show a visible maturation of companies’ commitment to communities, education, safety, inclusion, and public health. These are not just one-off actions, but integrated, long-term platforms with measurable and replicable impact. From cultivating the next generation of energy professionals to life-saving equipment and promoting diversity in the energy transition, these initiatives define the standards of corporate responsibility in Romania in 2025. Only one of them will be awarded at the Gala on December 4, but they all deserve our appreciation!
Distribuție Energie Oltenia – Ucenic Electrician: shaping the next generation of energy professionals
In the 2024–2025 school year, the Ucenic Electrician program strengthened its position as a long-term CSR platform, expanding participation to 300 students, including 31 girls, across seven technological high schools. The core pillars remained unchanged—monthly scholarships, technical kits, and practical workshops focused on communication, teamwork, and safety. New elements included updated STEM rewards, dialogues with company experts, and a second national victory in the “Ucenic Electrician Trophy,” confirming the program’s sustained impact on vocational education and the future workforce of the energy sector.
Distribuție Energie Oltenia – “În Grija Mea”: safety and wellbeing culture transformation
“In Grija Mea” is the company’s flagship initiative for building a proactive, people-centred safety culture. Launched in 2024 and running through 2026, the program combines over 250 hours of training and mentoring, experiential learning, leadership dialogues, and a 360° internal communication campaign. The “Safety Champions” competition rewards responsible field behaviour, while new tools and protocols strengthen risk identification and reporting. The long-term goal is to reach ZERO workplace accidents and improve wellbeing across all operational teams.
Electrica – Energie pentru România: first edition of a national impact platform
“Energie pentru România” is Electrica’s flagship CSR initiative, designed as an annual platform connecting the energy sector with education, technology, and civil society. The first edition gathered over 150 participants and produced direct social impact: funding 1,000 “Licurici” solar lamps for children in vulnerable, off-grid communities. The event included thematic panels, a unique technology exhibition, and youth engagement through the Renaissance Robotics team, establishing a national framework for dialogue, education, and tangible community support.
Enery – Power to Change: community-oriented corporate responsibility
In 2025, Enery demonstrated how corporate responsibility can generate tangible results through a diverse portfolio of community-focused projects. The company’s initiatives addressed education, environment, community safety, and support for rural areas, illustrating how renewable-energy developers can play an active role in strengthening the communities in which they operate.
OSCAR Downstream – România tot înainte: national platform for education, health and environment
Launched in 2024 and significantly expanded in 2025, “România Tot Înainte” brings together educators, NGOs, medical teams, and business partners to support three essential pillars of sustainable development. This year, the programme reached more than 48,000 students through the Creative Recycling Caravan, supported 60 vulnerable university students via “Vreau la facultate,” trained young farmers through Agriculture 4.0 initiatives, and delivered 1,100 free medical consultations via the SanoVan Mobile Health Caravan. Designed as a long-term platform, it continues to scale its impact across Romanian communities.
Parapet – Women Building Green Energy: normalising diversity in renewables
Women Building Green Energy highlights the essential contribution of women across the renewable-energy value chain—from structural design and topography to electrical engineering, quality assurance, and the operation of heavy machinery on photovoltaic sites. In a traditionally male-dominated sector, the project challenges stereotypes by showcasing professionals directly involved in installing hundreds of megawatts of solar and storage capacity. The campaign inspires new generations and promotes genuine equal opportunities within Romania’s energy transition.
Rompetrol – Community safety through public defibrillators
Rompetrol strengthened its long-standing partnership with the SMURD Foundation by expanding life-saving infrastructure in public spaces. In 2025, the company equipped 10 SMURD helicopters with automated CPR devices and installed 91 public defibrillators in Rompetrol stations and key locations across Prahova and Constanța. Connected to the national 112 emergency system and included on the “Fii Pregătit” public map, these devices provide guided, round-the-clock intervention for cardiac emergencies. Supported by first-aid training for more than 1,500 employees, the initiative builds on 16 years of commitment—fuel for air ambulances, mobile training centres, ECMO devices, protective equipment and VR training systems. Together, these interventions strengthen Romania’s emergency-response capabilities and deliver lasting community value.
