We begin our presentation of the 2025 Energynomics Award nominees with the “Energy Efficiency” section. This year’s nominations paint a picture of accelerating energy efficiency, in which digital technologies, AC-based solutions, high-performance cogeneration, and fluorinated gas-free equipment are setting new standards for industry, buildings, and energy infrastructure. The projects submitted confirm the clear trend in the economic environment: efficiency is no longer an accessory, but the foundation of competitiveness and accelerated decarbonization. Only one of them will be awarded at the Gala on December 4, but they all deserve our appreciation!
ATMOCE – AC-based Photovoltaic Efficiency Platform
ATMOCE brings to the Romanian market a revolutionary platform for photovoltaic efficiency, built entirely on AC technology. Advanced microinverters, intelligent management systems and ultra-safe storage reduce losses, increase operational safety and provide long-term performance. The solution allows households and communities to use solar energy with high efficiency, directly supporting national decarbonisation objectives.
Azomureș – Energy efficiency of the recirculated water system
The 16.19-million-lei project, co-financed through the NRRP Energy Component (C6 – I.5), targets optimisation of energy use in the recirculated-water utility. Interventions are designed to reduce energy consumption by 33% (3,369.9 MWh/year), cut GHG emissions by 33% (1,088 tCO₂/year), and lower energy intensity. The project is nearing completion and represents a strong example of efficiency at industrial scale.
Chimcomplex & Adrem Asset Management – PowerMind: Digital energy intelligence
PowerMind completely transforms the way Chimcomplex manages energy, shifting from a reactive to a predictive model. The platform integrates AI-based forecasting, real-time analytics and optimisation algorithms for cogeneration, consumption and market participation. The result is a predictive operational model that reduces costs, improves performance and limits CO₂ emissions, offering a replicable pathway for large industrial platforms across Eastern Europe.
EnergoBit – MOD AIR Range
MOD AIR is the first Romanian medium-voltage switchgear range entirely designed and manufactured locally, compliant with EU Regulation 2024/573 and eliminating fluorinated gases. The technology uses dry air for insulation and vacuum for switching, reducing losses and extending equipment lifetime. Its modular structure enables quick integration into existing infrastructures and prepares networks for advanced automation and renewable-ready operation.
Genesis Biopartner – High-efficiency biogas network for circular energy
Genesis Biopartner operates one of Romania’s most efficient models for converting organic waste into renewable energy. The facilities in Filipeștii de Pădure and Cordun generate more than 16 million m³ of biogas annually, producing green electricity for approximately 14,000 households. Internal heat utilisation reduces external demand, while avoiding over 80,000 tCO₂ per year — soon to exceed 165,000 t — confirming the central role of cogeneration and circular economy in the energy transition.
SolaX – Five energy efficiency case studies
These five case studies documents the real-world impact of SolaX solutions across industry, agriculture, tourism and medical services. The projects total 2.005 MW of installed capacity and demonstrate significant reductions in energy consumption, higher autonomy and effective solar-energy integration. The video testimonials provide direct proof of performance, confirming SolaX as a practical and scalable provider of efficient solutions.
