Energy Ministry launched in consultation the documents for the production of batteries and PV panels through PNRR

The Ministry of Energy has launched in public consultation the documents regarding the access to European funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) for the production of batteries, photovoltaic panels and storage capacities, announced on Facebook the relevant minister, Virgil Popescu.

“Today we launched for public consultation the documents for the State Aid Scheme and the Specific Guide related to Investment Measure I.4 – Industrial chain of production and/or assembly and/or recycling of batteries, cells and photovoltaic panels (including auxiliary equipment) and new electricity storage capacities, of at least 480 MWh, until December 31, 2025,” said Virgil Popescu, according to Agerpres.

The industrial value chain of batteries will reach a total annual manufacturing capacity and assembly of batteries of at least 2 GW, while the industrial value chain of photovoltaic cells and panels will reach a total annual capacity of at least 200 MW by December 31, 2025.

The project submission period is of June 30, 2022 – June 30, 2023.

The total estimated budget of the scheme is the equivalent in lei of the amount of 260 million euro.

Regarding the investments for the development of electricity storage capacities (batteries), the submission period is of June 30, 2022, 10:00 am – August 31, 2022, 5:00 pm.

The budget allocated to the scheme is the RON equivalent of the amount of 104 million euro, composed of 80 million euro of non-reimbursable funds provided in PNRR and national funds amounting to 24 million euro.

The aid is granted in lei in the form of reimbursement of expenses incurred and may not exceed 167,000 euros per MWh of storage and 15,000,000 euro per enterprise, per investment project.
