Israel-based renewables investment fund Windin’ Capital Fund is acquiring a 50% stake in a hybrid renewable energy project in Romania.

The project, located in the central-western city of Sebes, Alba county, comprises a 67 MW photovoltaic (PV) plant and a 180 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS).

“Windin’ Capital Fund will acquire a 50% shareholding in the vehicle developing the project, through a combination of purchase of shares and injection of Mezzanine and equity capital,” a press release reads. “When completed, this investment will represent for Windin’ Capital Fund a strategic foothold on the local energy market.”

Windin’ Capital is an equity fund that focuses on investing in projects and companies in the renewable energy sector. It was established by Aveeram Wind’s top management as their investment arm in Europe.
