The energy strategy left the Ministry of Energy and entered the inter-ministerial approval procedure to be approved by the Government and sent to the Parliament, said on Tuesday the Minister of Energy, Virgil Popescu.

“The energy strategy has left the ministry, it is a bill in inter-ministerial approval, to be approved in the Government and sent to the Parliament. I have absolutely no private relationship with absolutely no private company. In PNRR there is money for private companies, for state companies, for public-private partnerships, for majority privately owned companies. The list is public you can see them,” said Virgil Popescu, quoted by Agerpres.

The Minister of Energy also referred to Romgaz’s project proposal on green hydrogen.

“Romgaz, if you refer to a certain project, Romgaz has submitted a project proposal because they are not funded projects, they are project proposals, an innovative project, it is assumed since last year in a public partnership, signed by a memorandum with a private company. More can be answered by those who made this partnership. I can tell you that the project is innovative, produces green hydrogen from renewable energy. Green hydrogen is mixed with natural gas. We produce electricity, then we store CO2, so we do not emit CO2. It is an innovative European project, including at the level of the European Commission it was very well received. If it is funded, the project will comply with state aid rules. Probably maximum 50%, but depending on what the European Commission will decide. We are not talking about ready-financed projects in PNRR but about projects proposed for financing,” the minister added.
