The works on the 400 kV Reșița electrical transformer station and the refurbishment of the 220/110 kV Reșița electrical transformer station, Caraș-Severin county, have been completed, announced the National Electricity Transport Company Transelectrica.
According to the cited source, the investment amounted to 175.9 million lei (excluding VAT) and was carried out entirely from the company’s own resources.
The works were carried out by Asocierea Siemens Energy SRL (leader), Electrogrup S.A., Retrasib S.A. and the subcontractor Energotech, as well as Dacom Impex SRL and are part of the strategic project “Transition to 400 kV voltage of the Porțile de Fier-Reșița-Timișoara-Săcălaz-Arad axis / 400/220/110 kV Reșița Station”.
The project included the construction of a new 400 kV station and the complete refurbishment of the existing 220/110 kV voltage levels.
The Reșița Station represents an important node of the 400 kV energy main in the west of the country – the Banat Axis, ensuring the transit of electricity between Porțile de Fier, Reșița, Timișoara and Arad. At the same time, during this period, important projects are underway, in different stages, for the transition to 400 kV voltage of the Porțile de Fier – Reșița – Timișoara – Săcălaz – Arad axis.
“We are currently working intensively on the 400 kV main line that will energetically connect Reșița to Timișoara in the coming period, on the new 400 kV Axis of Banat, from Reșița to Timișoara/Săcălaz to Arad. It is a work financed by the Modernization Fund and is part of the 400 kV Ring of Romania in the western area. Transelectrica is a truly strategic company for the Romanian State. The investments that Transelectrica makes open the door to economic development at the national level. Recently, the General Meeting of Shareholders approved an investment budget of 914 million lei for this year, 30% higher than last year. And the pace will continue to increase. We aim to progressively reach annual investments of up to 1.3 billion lei in the coming years,” said Ștefăniță Munteanu, CEO of Transelectrica, in a statement.
The investment is part of Stage I of the extensive program for the development and modernization of the 400 kV energy main in the west of the country – the Banat Axis, supported also by the Modernization Fund, which will strengthen the energy infrastructure in western Romania and strengthen the interconnection with the European ENTSO-E network, Transelectrica representatives state.
