Exim Banca Românească is one of the key institutions supporting Romania’s accession process to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), a country project with a similar significance to those related to EU and NATO accession, said the bank’s executive president, Traian Halalai.

“Exim Banca Românească has extensive experience in establishing common technical positions at the EU level regarding the financial instruments through which governments can contribute to the development of world trade, which allows a rapid integration of OECD practices to boost export support and harmonize the policies of local companies with the organization’s requirements. In this context, the strategy of Exim Banca Românească in the medium and long term continues to assign a significant position to ECA activity, especially from the perspective of information flow and ensuring synergies in the entire activity of the commercial bank, especially in ESG and climate change issues. I am convinced that participating in the debates of working groups at the European level and of the OECD will allow Romanian exporters to integrate into large-scale international projects, through complex transactions that enhance the potential of Romanian companies,” said Traian Halalai, in Paris.

According to a press release from the bank, Exim Banca Românească representatives participated in the meeting of the Working Group for Export Credits of the OECD, with a view to Romania’s accession as a member state.

Halalai added that Romania’s presence among the OECD member states confirms the level of economic growth and allows the capitalization of significant future investment opportunities, and, through the lens of the portfolio of financial instruments, Exim Banca Românească positions itself as a valuable partner in this process, both from a governmental perspective, as well as at the level of business dynamics of local companies.

Exim Banca Românească is the only financial institution in Romania, specialized, with the role of promoting exports, in accordance with the standards of the OECD Agreement on export credits, which benefits from official support.
