The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca launches energy efficiency courses for SMEs

Specialists in the field of energy efficiency and employees in SMEs with responsibilities related to energy management of the company are invited to participate in the 2nd edition of the postgraduate training program: “Energy efficiency and sustainability for energy managers (in SMEs)” , organized by the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, under the coordination of “Energy Transition Research Center” EnTReC.

Topics covered

  • European and national energy efficiency policies and regulations
  • Energy efficiency systems, measures and solutions – opportunities to reduce energy consumption
  • Getting started in energy assessment and standards
  • Tools for energy monitoring and management
  • Mechanisms and sources of financing energy efficiency
  • Case studies (energy scan at SMEs participating in the course)

The courses will take place, free of charge, between October 15 and December 15, in online format (theoretical part) and on-site (practical part / case studies).

Graduates will receive a Graduation Certificate, issued by the Ministry of Education and Research. The postgraduate program is a component of UTCN’s collaboration in the project: “A holistic framework for Empowering SMEs’ capacity to increase their energy efficiency” which is carried out within the European Framework Program for Research and Innovation Horizon 2020, through the SME funding mechanism .

Therefore, the graduates of this program will officially become members of the international community of energy specialists created through the project. Also, throughout the program, as well as after its graduation, participants will have access to the SMEmPower Efficiency platform where training materials will be available in all 8 partner countries in the project. The objective of the project is to support SMEs in the countries participating in the project in conducting energy audits and implementing the solutions proposed by them to improve energy performance.
