Electroalfa International, a company with 100% Romanian capital and over 34 years of experience, announces the achievement of an important step within the strategic partnership with the European leader in the field, the renowned transformer manufacturer SGB-SMIT Group, headquartered in Germany. The SGB-Alfa factory, built within this joint venture, has been completed to a proportion of 95%, on which occasion a delegation of top management of SGB-SMIT was present to mark this milestone. The partnership signed in 2024 is following its natural course, and compliance with the assumed deadlines confirms the seriousness of the company’s commitments and demonstrates Electroalfa International’s ability to transform plans into concrete results, bringing value to its partners and customers.
The new production unit, located in Botoșani, covers an area of over 9,000 sq m and is equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Production is planned to start in the coming weeks, and the products manufactured here will cover the 50–1000 kVA nominal power range, responding to the ever-growing demands of the European and international market.

The partnership with SGB-SMIT is intended to complement Electroalfa International’s product portfolio and is part of the company’s long-term strategy to develop a production and technological expertise center in the energy field in Botoșani County, for equipment that is part of a compact transformer station. The investment also brings significant benefits to the local community by creating over 200 direct jobs by 2027, strengthening the local supply chain and stimulating economic growth. SGB-Alfa will contribute to accelerating the energy transition, providing the local and regional market with sustainable and efficient solutions for the energy infrastructure of the future.
