The high number of photovoltaic projects that don’t follow the rules puts investments in the whole business at risk

One of the biggest mistakes of the beneficiaries of photovoltaic plants is that they refer first of all to the price and the implementation period and only then to the quality of the works. The high number of non-compliant projects can jeopardize investments in the sector.

“If the demand is formed in such a way that the quality is in last place, then the supply will be molded according to this type of demand, and for this very reason we see in this second wave of renewable energy that many companies have reshaped themselves into type of EPC or installers of photovoltaic systems maybe from fields that had no connection with the energy industry. These companies rush to grab as many projects as possible and unfortunately put very little emphasis on quality. If we want to have as much renewable energy as possible in Romania, we must deliver quality projects, otherwise we will see a slowdown in investments”, said Adrian Săcuiu, Managing Partner at Volt, at the 9th edition of the Energy Strategy Summit, an event organized by Energynomics.

This phenomenon also happens because the companies that install the photovoltaic plants are very focused on the commercial side and less on the technical side, something that can be seen from the quality of the work done, but also from the lack of education of the final consumer, who often he does not know how he should evaluate such an investment.

However, a gratifying thing is that this year, through the Green House program, the Environmental Fund Agency is asking companies for a guarantee of 200,000 for the situation in which the projects they deliver do not comply with the offers. Beneficiaries of such projects should understand that a photovoltaic installation is an investment that must work and have a good return for a period of at least 25 years.
