The development of hydrogen production systems is in sync with the development of the renewable energy industry in Romania, said Florian Tudor, Head of Sales Hydrogen Refuelling Stations Stockholm, Metacon AB, during the “More renewables for Romania” conference, organized by Energynomics.

“Timing is in Romania’s favour. The whole cycle of design, commissioning and commissioning is extremely appropriate on the timing that Romania is on in renewables. Hydrogen is a solution compatible with the current problems of transporting energy from the point of production to the point of consumption,” said Tudor.

The Swedish company Metacon has among its customers major energy producers or energy resource managers. Metacon delivers solutions to produce hydrogen from the customer’s resource either by electrolysis or hydrocarbon reforming.

According to Tudor, the company has partnerships in Romania with Elektra Invest for attaching hydrogen solutions to wind or photovoltaic parks under development and such a partnership will also help balance additional electricity production. Some state institutions have also shown interest in the business models applied by the Swedish company in other countries.

“Where solutions are implemented properly, there is no need for energy transmission. Even if it’s not a universally valid solution, being compatible with many areas, it helps to solve many current problems,” Tudor said.

“More renewables for Romania” conference was organized by Energynomics, with the support of our partners among which Alive Capital, Astrasun, BCR, Elektra Renewable Support, EnergoBit, Eximprod, Ensys Renewable Solution, ING Bank, LAPP Romania, Metacon, Noark, Photomate, REI Grup, TAW Energy, Volt, Wiren.
