TeraPlast Group ended the first half of 2025 (H1) with solidly growing consolidated financial results, amid the favorable market evolution, both in Romania and outside Romania. The evolution of the main activity segments and the increased operational efficiency contributed to an improvement in profitability indicators, despite a cost of 4.3 million lei against the backdrop of the depreciation of the leu. Thus, in H1 the turnover increased by 29% compared to H1 2024, from 428 million lei, to 552 million lei. EBITDA increased by 74% in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period of 2024, from 26 million lei in H1/2024, to 47 million lei in H1/2025, with an EBITDA margin of 8.5% after the first six months of the year, up 2.2 percentage points compared to the same period in 2024. It is noteworthy that the Group’s main segment – Installations – returned at the end of the first half of 2025 to a double-digit EBITDA margin: 10.6%.
In the first half of 2025, the Group recorded a positive net result of 3.4 million lei, although the depreciation of the national currency had an impact of 4.3 million lei on costs. Sales outside Romania almost doubled, from 100 to 195 million lei, reaching 35% of turnover in H1/2025, compared to 24% of turnover in the same period of 2024.
Quantitatively, the volumes produced and delivered by the TeraPlast Group increased by 18% in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, from 54 thousand tons in H1/2024, to 64 thousand tons in H1/2025. This increase is mainly due to the quantitative growth of the Installations and Packaging segments.
“In the first half of 2025, we delivered growing results, taking advantage of favorable conditions in the infrastructure market. Although we could not fully eliminate the effects of external factors, such as currency fluctuations, rising financing costs or declines in the packaging market, we continued to strengthen our regional position, with a focus on profitability. The success of our subsidiaries outside Romania makes us confident that the internationalization of the TeraPlast business is the right path and gives us the courage to continue on this path. The integration of acquisitions is starting to generate visible benefits within the Group.
”In this context, we analyzed the possibility of increasing our estimates for this year, but we chose a conservative approach. The uncertainty in the market regarding the pace at which infrastructure investments in Romania will continue has made us cautious, and we will return to a possible revision of the figures for this year after the third quarter,” said Bogdan Crăciunaș, CFO of TeraPlast Group.
“We grew because we stuck to our path and vision. At TeraPlast, we believe in simple and correct things: sustained work, compliance with the rules, correct payment of taxes, retaining good people and attracting professionals from reputable companies. If at least one in three companies in Romania would give such news, that they have grown their businesses, that they do not lay people off, that they invest and perform honestly, I think we would have more news that inspires and gives confidence. We like to give such news”, added Dorel Goia, Chairman of the TeraPlast Board of Directors.
Installations reached a share of 73% of the Group’s revenues. In this segment, turnover increased by 31% compared to H1 2024, from 307 million lei to 402 million lei. EBITDA reached 42.5 million lei after the first six months of the current year, 56% more than in H1 2024, while the EBITDA margin reached 10.6%.
The increases were supported by the consolidation of the presence on foreign markets, especially through the Wolfgang Freiler Group, which doubled its sales compared to the same period last year. Activity in Hungary intensified, and positions in Austria and Germany were strengthened. In Hungary, the Group’s strategic objective is leadership in the polyethylene and PVC systems market.
On the Romanian market, although there was sustained demand in the first half of the year, due to programs from national budget funds and European projects, the settlement of works generated pressure in the revenue area. Starting with May, the positive contribution of the consolidation of the Aquatica Experince group was added to the results of the Installations segment.
