Simtel announces the opening of a new subsidiary in Stockholm, Sweden – Simtel Nordics. This initiative marks a new stage in the company’s international expansion process and is based on the market opportunities identified in the Nordic region, one of the most dynamic and advanced in Europe in the field of energy transition.
The decision to establish Simtel Nordics represents an organic move, part of the group’s international growth strategy, and aims to strengthen Simtel’s presence in the Nordic region, covering all countries in the area. Through this expansion, the company aims to transfer the knowledge and technical expertise accumulated in Romania, especially in the field of energy storage projects (BESS) and operation and maintenance services (O&M), to a market highly receptive to innovative energy efficiency solutions.
“The expansion into Sweden is a natural continuation of our international journey and a validation of the business model we have built in Romania. The Nordic countries offer an excellent environment for the development of renewable energy and storage projects, and through Simtel Nordics we aim to actively contribute to accelerating the transition to clean energy in this region. The Stockholm branch will allow us to be closer to our existing partners and potential customers, to offer high-quality local services and to increase the group’s operational capacity at a European level. At the same time, the expansion into Sweden, together with the one carried out in Germany at the beginning of the year, strengthens our international development direction and provides us with a solid basis to scale the successful model built in Romania on new European markets”, said Ana Nedea, Director of Strategy and Business Development of the Simtel Group. The Stockholm branch has a strategic positioning, offering quick access to the entire Nordic region and proximity to existing partners. Simtel is already providing operations, maintenance and preventive and corrective interventions services for numerous projects in the area from Romania. By opening this branch, the company will be able to offer a more efficient local approach, with reduced reaction times and a high level of service quality.
Simtel Nordics will be active mainly in the area of EPC for energy storage and hybrid projects, complemented by Operation and Maintenance (O&M) services dedicated to BESS systems, with the company currently in the process of setting up the local team. In the medium term, the objectives include expanding the portfolio of EPC and O&M projects in the Nordic countries, and in the long term, the integration of other business lines within the group, completing the mix of services offered by Simtel internationally.
The opening of the branch in Sweden marks the second expansion made by the company in 2025 in Europe, after the inauguration of the one in Germany in January. The two subsidiaries will work closely with the teams in Romania, within an integrated operational model, based on the transfer of technical expertise, streamlining implementation costs and increasing operational capacity. Through this approach, Simtel consolidates its position as an important regional player in the field of renewable energy, amplifying its contribution to the European energy transition.
For 2025, the company does not plan to open other subsidiaries, but the group’s strategic plan until 2031 includes the opening of at least two new entities in European markets with high potential, as part of its international expansion pillar.
