Scatec, a leading renewable energy solutions provider, announces a further strengthening of its presence in Romania through the acquisition and construction start of the 77 MW Urleasca onshore wind project, diversification into battery storage, alongside the official opening of its new office in Bucharest.

Located in Brăila county in south-east Romania, the Urleasca project marks Scatec’s entry into European onshore wind and complements the company’s growing solar portfolio in the country. Scatec is currently constructing the 190 MW Dobrun & Sadova solar projects, bringing its Romanian solar and wind portfolio to 267 MW. The company has also added 178 MWh of battery storage to its backlog, reinforcing its broader approach to hybrid renewable energy solutions.

The official opening of Scatec’s new Bucharest office further underlines the company’s commitment to Romania. The local presence will provide a stronger platform to develop, build and operate renewable energy projects, while supporting continued growth opportunities in one of Europe’s dynamic energy transition markets.
