The World Energy Council announced the addition of 50 new members to its Global Future Energy Leaders (FEL) program, and among them is the Romanian Rareș Hurghiș. He thus joined the most promising future energy leaders globally, according to a statement.

Rareș Hurghiș is General Manager at Future Energy Leaders (FEL) Romania and Strategy Expert at ENGIE Romania. Rareș holds a doctorate in economics from Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca. He has over 9 years of experience in the energy sector (distribution and supply, natural gas and electricity, renewable energies) within two of the largest profile companies in Romania. He has expertise in the areas of strategy, business development, finance, respectively in the implementation of strategic and transformational projects. He is interested in the area of sustainability and new technologies that help us reduce the impact on the environment in which we live.

Members of the global Future Energy Leaders program are exceptional young professionals who share a commitment to shaping the future of energy, solving the world’s most pressing energy and sustainability challenges, and engaging in national, regional and global dialogues to deliver on the vision Humanizing Energy.

The World Energy Council’s global Future Energy Leaders community represents 61 countries and every continent, with members from diverse backgrounds across all areas of the energy ecosystem, including government, business and industry, academia and research, finance, NGOs, oil and gas , renewables, technology, innovation and start-ups, engineering and construction and utilities.

Global Future Energy Leaders is the platform designed to inspire and shape leaders in the energy sector. The program is designed to facilitate, for a maximum period of 3 years, the interaction between a rigorously selected number of participants from all over the world and to enable regional and international collaboration.
