PPC blue, part of the PPC Group in Romania, has surpassed 1,100 electric vehicle charging points in 2025, doubling its network compared to the previous year and strengthening its position as one of the country’s leading electric mobility infrastructure operators. The expansion comes as electric mobility moves beyond early adoption, with infrastructure accessibility becoming a decisive factor for large-scale uptake.
According to the company, more than half of the PPC blue network consists of fast and ultra-fast charging stations, while total installed capacity exceeds 36 MW, covering all Romanian counties. The development strategy has focused not only on increasing the number of charging points, but also on rebalancing AC and DC infrastructure, with DC stations now accounting for over 50% of the network, in order to reduce charging times and better integrate EV charging into daily mobility patterns.
The impact of the network is already measurable. In 2025, drivers using PPC blue stations travelled over 12 million kilometers, equivalent to 299 laps around the Earth, with an average consumption of 0.20 kWh per kilometer. As a result of these charging sessions, more than 1,945 tons of CO₂ emissions were avoided annually, underlining the role of charging infrastructure in reducing the carbon footprint of road transport.
Beyond physical infrastructure, PPC blue has placed strong emphasis on user experience, offering transparent and predictable pricing, real-time information and a digital application that enables trip planning and access to charging services in both Romania and Greece. PPC Blue Romania is also the only company in the country to offer charging subscriptions with included energy units (1 unit = 1 kWh), alongside Charge & Pay options and 24/7 technical assistance.
Looking ahead to 2026, PPC blue plans to continue investing along three complementary directions: densifying the network in locations where people already spend time, developing a balanced mix of fast transit charging and AC charging in residential and proximity areas, and integrating charging infrastructure with green energy and storage solutions, turning charging points into active elements of the energy ecosystem rather than simple points of consumption.
The rapid expansion of PPC blue’s network signals a broader shift in Romania’s electric mobility landscape — from isolated projects to scalable infrastructure with a strategic role in the energy transition and transport decarbonization.
