OMV Petrom’s gas production decreased slightly in the last quarter of 2023

OMV Petrom’s gas production decreased slightly in the last quarter of last year (Q4), to 56,200 boe/d, down 5% compared to the previous quarter, when it stood at 59,500 boe/d, according to preliminary data sent on Thursday to Bucharest Stock Exchange.

Total hydrocarbon production stood at 110,000 boe/d, down from 113,500 boe/d in the third quarter, down 2.65% year-on-year. Crude oil and condensate production totaled 53,700 boe/d, down from 54,000 boe/d previously.

The total volume of hydrocarbon sales was, in the quarter ended December 31, of 105,700 boe/d, down from 107,900 boe/d in the previous quarter, of which 57,100 boe/d sales of crude oil and condensate (plus 2.5 %) and 48,600 boe/day natural gas sales (minus 6.9%), according to Agerpres.

The net electricity production of the Brazi plant totaled 1.71 TWh in the mentioned period, compared to 1.48 TWh in the third quarter of 2023.

OMV Petrom is the largest energy company in South-Eastern Europe, with annual group crude oil and gas production of approximately 43 million boe in 2022. The group has a refining capacity of 4.5 million tonnes annually and operates an 860 MW high efficiency power plant. On the retail oil products distribution market, the Group is present in Romania and neighboring countries through approximately 780 gas stations, under two brands, OMV and Petrom.

OMV Petrom is a company in which Romanian shareholders own over 42% of the shares (of which the Romanian state, through the Ministry of Energy, owns 20.7%, and 21.7% are owned by Romanian pension funds, to which are added almost 500,000 individual investors and other Romanian entities). OMV Aktiengesellschaft, one of Austria’s most listed industrial companies, owns 51.2% of OMV Petrom shares, with the remaining 6.4% held by other foreign investors. Of the total shares of OMV Petrom, 28.1% are freely traded on the Bucharest Stock Exchange and the London Stock Exchange.
