OMV Petrom announces the completion of drilling operations at the Krum-1 exploration well, the second exploration well drilled in the Han Asparuh area, offshore Bulgaria.

Drilling operations began in February, following the completion of the Vinekh well, and have now reached the planned depth of approximately 3,500 meters, without encountering significant gas volumes.

The data collected by the two exploration wells drilled since December 2025 will contribute to deepening geological knowledge of the region. As exploration of the deep Black Sea is still at an early stage, each well provides valuable information about the characteristics of the basin’s subsurface and its future potential.

“We remain committed to our exploration strategy and continue to pursue opportunities in the offshore area of Bulgaria, recognizing the significant potential of the Black Sea basin. We recently signed a farm-in agreement for the exploration of the Han Tervel perimeter with Shell and TPAO and look forward to a successful collaboration,” said Cristian Hubati, Member of the OMV Petrom Management Board, responsible for Exploration and Production.
