PPC Blue Romania, part of the PPC group in Romania, has won the tender organized by the National Airports Company Bucharest, to install 7 ultra-fast charging stations for electric vehicles at Henri Coandă International Airport, Bucharest. The agreement provides for the commissioning of the stations, with a power of 200 kW each, by June 29 of this year.

The stations will have two charging points each and will be located in the parking lot near the Departures Terminal, offering electric vehicle users a fast and convenient charging solution. The contract, awarded following the tender held through the Romanian Commodity Exchange on March 18, 2026, has a duration of five years.

“We are happy to contribute to the development of electric mobility infrastructure at such an important point as Otopeni Airport. For us, it is a natural step in the expansion of the national network and an opportunity to offer electric car users modern, fast and easy-to-access services. We believe that such projects make a difference in the large-scale adoption of sustainable transport”, said Andreea-Dana Popescu, General Manager of PPC Blue Romania.

Thus, PPC blue will install in the North parking lot of Henri Coandă International Airport a modern infrastructure, consisting of 7 fast charging stations of 200 kW each, which will serve a total of 14 recharging points. The total installed power will be 1.4 MW, with an absorbed power of 1.2 MW, thus ensuring reduced charging times and a high capacity to serve users.

Through this project, PPC blue expands its network – one of the largest in Romania – and brings state-of-the-art technology to Otopeni Airport, designed to meet the growing demand for electric mobility solutions. In Romania, PPC blue operates over 1,100 charging points in all counties of the country, with a total installed power of over 36 MW, doubling not only the number of points, but also the number of fast and ultra-fast charging stations. PPC blue offers integrated electric mobility solutions to residential customers, companies and public institutions throughout the country.

The stations will be installed and put into operation by June 29 at the latest, a deadline that reflects the company’s commitment to the rapid and efficient implementation of the project.

In 2026, PPC blue’s investments will follow the same strategic direction: integrating electric mobility both in everyday life and during long trips. Thus, PPC blue will continue to develop the infrastructure in three complementary directions: densification of the charging network in areas where people already spend their time (retail, business districts, areas of interest, campuses, industrial parks and tourist areas), where charging becomes a natural part of daily activity, not a dedicated stop; investments in a balanced infrastructure through rapid transit stations, but also AC charging in residential and proximity areas to support the concept of slow living and to reduce pressure on the network. And, last but not least, integration with green energy and storage solutions, so that the infrastructure becomes an active element in the energy ecosystem, not just a consumption point.

PPC blue installs charging infrastructure in Romania in shopping centers, supermarkets, restaurants and hotels that want to attract electric car users, as well as in public spaces made available by municipalities interested in improving air quality by encouraging electric mobility.

In 2025, drivers who charged their electric cars at PPC blue stations traveled a total of over 18,000,000 km, equivalent to 453 laps around the Earth, recording an average of 0.20 kWh per km. As a result of their charging sessions, they contributed to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by over 2,945 tons/year.
