Over 6,200 economic operators will benefit from support estimated at over 650 million lei, in the form of a grant of 85 bani for each liter of diesel, and the benefits will spread throughout the entire economic chain, announced the Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare.
He stated on Thursday evening that the Government had approved the extension of the support scheme for transporters, by compensating for the increase in the price of diesel for the fuel purchased until the end of 2026.
“In times of economic uncertainty, one of the most important responsibilities of the state is to remain with the business environment. Therefore, today, in the Government, we approved the extension of the support scheme for transporters, by compensating for the increase in the price of diesel for the fuel purchased until the end of 2026. It is a concrete measure, intended to provide stability in a sector essential for the economy. Through this mechanism, over 6,200 economic operators will benefit from support estimated at over 650 million lei, in the form of a grant of 85 bani for each liter of diesel,” the Minister of Finance wrote on his Facebook page, according to Agerpres.
He stressed that the support does not only reach transporters and the benefits are spread throughout the entire economic chain: logistics and distribution companies, Romanian producers and exporters, small and medium-sized enterprises, traders and the processing industry.
“More predictable transport costs mean stability for businesses and, ultimately, more balanced prices and secure supply for consumers. Supporting the business environment in difficult times is not just a one-off intervention, but an investment in the stability of the economy. And our role is to use budgetary resources responsibly to maintain the balance and competitiveness of the Romanian economy”, Nazare also pointed out.
