Moldelectrica launched the tender for the extension of the 400 kV power station in Vulcanesti

Moldelectrica’s Vulcanesti power station is to be expanded by installing an additional 400 kV cell, Constantin Borosan, state secretary in the Moldovan Ministry of Energy, announced on Facebook. In addition, two own service transformers with a rated power of 1000 kVA will be upgraded.

The works will allow the connection of the 400 kV Vulcanesti-Chisinau overhead power line, to be built within the same project.

UCIPE – MEPIU has launched an international tender for this purpose within the framework of the Project for the Development of the Power System in the Republic of Moldova.

The project for the development of the electricity system in the Republic of Moldova aims at the construction of the high voltage overhead power line on the Vulcanesti-Chisinau direction, the modernization/extension of two power stations, as well as the strengthening of the electricity dispatching and metering system. The total value of the project is €61 million and is financed by the International Development Association – IDA (World Bank Moldova).
