The energy situation is under control, the available production capacities are operating at maximum capacity and contributing to compensating for the unavailability of reactor 2 of the Cernavoda NPP, informs the Ministry of Energy.

According to the cited source, on Tuesday, at the headquarters of the National Energy Dispatcher, a meeting of the Energy Command took place, coordinated by the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Energy, Cristian Bușoi.

During the meeting, the energy situation at national and regional levels was analyzed, as well as the developments forecasted for the coming period.

Also, the weather forecasts for the next 10 days, the situation of electricity production capacities, as well as any risks that could affect the functioning of the national energy system were analyzed.

“At this moment, the energy situation is under control. The available production capacities are operating at maximum capacity and contribute to compensating for the unavailability of reactor 2 of the Cernavodă NPP. Starting yesterday, group 4 from Rovinari, as well as the reserve group from Paroșeni, were put back into operation, thus contributing to the increase in the available capacities for the production of electricity,” the press release states.

At the same time, the production of electricity based on natural gas remains at a high level, and the favorable weather conditions support good production from photovoltaic sources.

“These elements, corroborated with the available import capacities, which remain within normal parameters, indicate that, at least for this week, no particular problems are anticipated in terms of ensuring Romania’s electricity supply. The authorities and operators in the energy sector are constantly monitoring the evolution of the situation and the system’s capacity to respond to consumption needs, so as to maintain the safety and stability of the National Energy System,” the press release states.
