The executive introduced on Wednesday the obligation to recalculate erroneously issued energy bills, those where the capping and compensation mechanisms were not applied, the suppliers having the obligation to recalculate them within 15 days, announced the Minister of Energy, Virgil Popescu, at the briefing at the end of the Government meeting .

“As promised by the Government, today we introduced the obligation to recalculate incorrectly issued invoices by suppliers. Wrongly issued – lacking the applying of capping and clearing mechanisms. Suppliers have the obligation to recalculate them without penalties within 15 days and also during these 15 days a possible payment of their suspension is suspended,” the minister said.

He stressed that in order to prevent “possible possible abuses of a party” towards customers, disconnections are prohibited during the period of validity of this Emergency Ordinance of capping and compensation.

“All household consumers will benefit from the ban on unplugging. I hope everyone is in good faith and does not abuse this. The law enforcement period is until March 31, but I hope I’m not mistaken, suppliers have a deadline to recalculate the bills by June 31,” the minister added.
