Minister of Energy: The first gas from the Black Sea entered the national transport system

The first gas from the Black Sea entered the national transport system on Wednesday, respectively the gas from the Midia perimeter, the Ana field, exploited by Black Sea Oil & Gas, announced the Minister of Energy, Virgil Popescu, on his Facebook page.

“It’s official! The first gas from the Black Sea has entered the national transportation system today! It’s the gas from the Midia perimeter, the Ana field, operated by Black Sea Oil & Gas. We will have an extra quantity of about one billion cubic meters anually. Our country has taken another step towards becoming energy independent,” the minister wrote on the social network page, according to Agerpres.

Black Sea Oil & Gas SA (BSOG), together with its concession partners, Petro Ventures Resources and Gas Plus Dacia, started on Wednesday afternoon the production of gas from the Midia Natural Gas Development Project (MGD), introducing the first gas in National Transport System.

According to a BSOG statement, an estimated 0.5 billion cubic meters of gas will be produce this year. The production on the plateau will be of about 1 billion cubic meters/ year for the next three years of the ten years of lifespan estimated for the Ana and Doina deposits.
