Romania must hurry to adopt new technologies and implement new projects, as it happens not only in the West, but in all the countries in the region, said Liviu Drăgoi, Sales Manager of ACE Industrial Software solutions – distributor Aveva for Romania and Eastern Europe, at the conference DigitALL 2021, organized by Energynomics.

“We have been discussing digitalization in Romania for years – I think recent experiences have also started to show us the need to implement solutions. If until recently we were used to check with the West, to implementing some solutions, unfortunately, we are now in the situation that we can see new implemented projects already closer to us, in the region; while we just talk. Digitalization is the lifeblood of the future, because with it there come four essential components: standardization, efficiency, visibility and, more importantly, accuracy. It is very important, if you want to get a picture for the future, to understand the present of the businesses. It’s important not only to have the data available – we’re talking about big data, but what you’re doing with that data is also important. I think we can’t take the next step of digital transformation without the cloud segment, and I think the dynamics of the Romanian authorities need to improve significantly in this respect,” Liviu Drăgoi said.

Referring to the cloud technologies, he reminded that Aveva had a new approach in its portfolio, including from an investment point of view, which does not put pressure on capital investments – CAPEX.

”This is an OPEX model (based on low operational costs) which, on a subscription basis, provides access to all the technologies provided by Aveva. You can choose and change the technologies as needed. Among the companies that chose this solution are Shell, Total, Exxon, Gazprom. Closer to us, I mention NIS, a Serbian subsidiary Gazprom, which is operating 850 probes. It has implemented a single dispatch solution, which provides an integrated picture of the operational area with the business area, and the reporting is done automatically every 2 hours, with all the necessary data. Solutions can be applied not only in the oil and gas industry, but in all industries.”

Established in Romania since 2019, ACE is a local subsidiary of the Serbian Automatic Control Engineering company, he added. “Through the two companies we cover distribution in Eastern Europe – from Romania we cover the local market, as well as Bulgaria, Greece and Moldova. I would like to make it clear that we are distributors of technology solutions, industrial software – we are not solution integrators or hardware providers, , these needs are covered through the partners we have. We support our partners through an authorized training and support center for Aveva solutions.”

DigitALL 2021 was organized by Energynomics, in partnership with reputed organizations such as AHK Romania, CIO CouncilBusinessMark with the support of our partners: ABB România, ACE – Industrial Software Solutions, Enevo Group, Safetech Innovations.
