Digitalization is an absolutely necessary process when it comes to energy efficiency, said Laurențiu Brumaru, Head of Sales & Marketing e-Industries, Enel X Romania, at the “Digitalization and Energy Efficiency – Timisoara” conference, organized by Energynomics.
“About 78% of total energy consumption will be covered from renewable energies in the next period, until 2050. By 2040, 60% of growth will be supported by renewables, and by 2025, around 55% of the technology market will be dedicated to energy efficiency. Today, around 1,250 companies are leading the way to a global carbon footprint. We all want this digitalization, for going together towards a cleaner environment,” said Laurențiu Brumaru.
Enel X was developed within the Enel Group precisely to drive the transition to clean energy. “Enel X also aims to develop and implement energy efficiency solutions. This is a division that aims to help its customers achieve decarbonization targets through electrification and digitalization.”
Enel X has four main product lines in its portfolio. The first, the Energy Consumption Monitoring – electricity, gas, thermal agent, steam and other utilities, has dedicated software to offer its customers. Another important line is distributed energy, which identifies local production solutions such as solar panels or cogeneration, and also includes the area of energy infrastructure and lighting solutions.
“In addition to these two areas, we have in development two other clusters: Flexibility Solutions, and here we are talking about Demand Response and Demand Side Management, as well as the Energy Storage Systems area. In Romania, storage systems are still relatively expensive, compared to energy prices and from a financial point of view, today, they are not profitable. We expect, however, that at the end of this year, or the middle of next year, these solutions will become more and more profitable for Romania, because, you have all seen, the energy prices is on the rise or the coming period,” said Laurențiu Brumaru, presenting the company’s solutions.
The conference “Digitalization and Energy Efficiency – Timisoara”, was organized by Energynomics, with the support of our partners ABB, Centrica Business Solutions, Eaton, ENGIE Romania, Enel X Romania, Kawasaki Gas Turbines Europe, Renovatio, Sixt, Wiren.
