INS: Natural gas and fuel have become more expensive in the last year

Natural gas, fuels, potatoes and oil have become more expensive in the last year, while the only reduction has been in electricity, for which the provisions of GEO no. 118/2021 on establishing a compensation scheme for the consumption of electricity and natural gas for the cold season have been taken into account, according to the data of the National Institute of Statistics.

Between March 2021 and March 2022, natural gas prices rose by 46.49%, fuels by 34.16%, potatoes by 36.5% and edible oil by 32.33%, according to Agerpres.

In the category of non-food goods, in the last year, large increases were recorded, apart from natural gas and fuels, in thermal energy (plus 20.99%). According to the INS, electricity prices decreased between March 2021 and March 2022 by 7.64% (influenced by the provisions of GEO 118/2021).

Compared to the previous month, fuels became more expensive by 7.67%, respectively, and no reduction was recorded in this category of goods. The average increase in prices compared to February 2022 was of 1.86% for non-food goods.

In the case of services, the highest annual increases were recorded for postal services (plus 17.50%), water, sewerage, sanitation (plus 14.68%) and other services (plus 11.54%).
