Moldovagaz will initiate the reduction of natural gas tariffs for the final consumers, from September of this year, announced Igor Dodon, President of the Republic of Moldova, in a post on his Facebook page.

He wrote: “Vadim Ceban, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SA Moldovagaz, informed me about this (reduction of tariffs). We examined the issues related to gas supply and, in general, Moldova’s energy security. We also discussed the initiation of negotiations with Gazprom on the signing of a three-year contract for the delivery of fuel in our country. There are premises for the reduction of natural gas tariffs for consumers in the fourth quarter of 2020,” said Dodon, according to financialintelligence.ro.

“At the same time, we discussed the adjustment of the investment and gasification program of the country’s localities in 2020. It is about the need to increase by 34 million lei the planned amount – from 18 to 52 million lei. We also discussed the issue of debts for natural gas, including the Transnistrian region, but also issues related to the implementation of the third energy package of the European Union.”
