No company has registered for the auction organized for the sale of the Mintia Thermal Power Plant within the Hunedoara Energy Complex (CEH), the deadline for submitting an offer being Tuesday, July 12, at 12.00, the judicial administrator of CEH, Emil Gros, told Agerpres.

He specified that the auction scheduled for July 15 will be held anyway, following that in the reports that will be concluded on that occasion the factual situation will be recorded.

The auction will then resume, at the same price, of 91.23 million euros, without VAT, on July 29, at the CEH headquarters in Petroşani.

If the asset is not sold, the auction will resume on August 12 and then on August 26, under the same price and location conditions, as approved by the company’s creditors.

The sellout procedure of this asset was approved by the CEH creditors’ meeting during the meeting convened by the judicial administrator, SC Expert Insolvenţă SPRL, on May 20, 2022.

Among the conditions imposed by the Ministry of Energy to the company that will purchase the thermal power plant is the obligation to develop a new energy capacity of 800 MWh in methane gas and renewable energy by the end of 2026.

The Mintia thermal power plant is part of the CEH and is composed of land with an area of 329.8 ha and constructions, as well as movable goods and related equipment.

The power plant was shut down in March 2021 because it ran out of coal and staff were laid off.
