Hidroelectrica announces the distribution of attractive dividends, of 30.3 lei/share cumulatively, equivalent to an additional yield of 29.2%, which brings the aggregate yield to about 141%. The company has an investment budget of 1.4 billion lei for this year, after investments had marked a record level of 781 million lei in 2025.
The company marks three years since the listing of its shares on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), one of the most important moments in the company’s history and a landmark for the Romanian capital market. During this period, Hidroelectrica has consolidated its leading position in renewable energy production, delivered solid financial performance, accelerated investments and confirmed investor confidence through a remarkable evolution of the H2O share.
The listing on July 12, 2023 represented the largest initial public offering in Europe and the third largest worldwide that year, contributing decisively to the development of the Romanian capital market and to the increase in the visibility of the Bucharest Stock Exchange among large international institutional investors. At the same time, the success of the offering demonstrated the trust placed in the company by tens of thousands of Romanian and foreign investors.
In the three years since the listing, Hidroelectrica has demonstrated its ability to generate performance in a market and hydrological context that is in constant change. Thus, given that 2025 represented the most difficult hydrological year in the last three decades, through prudent portfolio management and efficient adaptation to market conditions, the company maintained its operational and commercial balance, confirming the resilience of its business model.
The H2O share has recorded a remarkable evolution since its stock market debut. On July 3, 2026, it reached a historical high of 220 lei/share, generating an aggregate total return of 141% for the price adjusted with dividends distributed during the period 2023–2025.
At the same time, Hidroelectrica became one of the main liquidity generators of the Bucharest Stock Exchange. The company’s market capitalization doubled during the analyzed period, from 46.7 billion lei at the time of listing to 98.9 billion lei at the beginning of July 2026.
Investor interest in the company continued to grow. The number of shareholders reached approximately 57,000, up 39% compared to the time of listing, confirming Hidroelectrica’s attractiveness for both institutional and individual investors, from Romania and abroad.
In parallel, the company strengthened its corporate governance standards and dialogue with the capital market, promoting transparent and predictable communication and respecting best practices in relations with investors.
Strategically, Hidroelectrica continued to consolidate its position through investments and projects with long-term impact. The acquisition of UCM Reșița represented an important step for the development of internal capabilities in the field of maintenance and technological innovation, contributing to increasing the Group’s operational efficiency.
The pace of investments has experienced a significant acceleration in recent years. From 206 million lei invested in 2023 and 591 million lei in 2024, the year 2025 marked the highest investment value in the company’s recent history, with total investments of 781 million lei. The funds were directed towards the modernization and re-engineering of existing assets, the continuation of hydropower projects, the development of storage capacities, the digitalization of operational processes and the preparation of new investments in renewable energy and flexibility solutions.
For 2026, Hidroelectrica has allocated an investment budget of 1.4 billion lei, 82% above the level of investments made in the previous year, reflecting the company’s commitment to long-term development and strengthening its role in the energy transition.
“The three-year anniversary of Hidroelectrica’s listing is a moment of reflection, but above all a commitment to the future. The performances achieved during this period confirm the solidity of our business model and the company’s ability to create value in a constantly changing environment. We will continue to invest rapidly in the modernization of infrastructure, in the development of new production capacities and in technologies that support the flexibility of the energy system, while maintaining the high standards of governance and transparency that investors expect from Hidroelectrica”, declared Dan Iulius Plaveti, CEO of Hidroelectrica.
Looking to the future, Hidroelectrica reaffirms its commitment to remain the main green energy producer in Romania and one of the most important issuers on the capital market, continuing to invest in infrastructure, new production capacities and innovative solutions that contribute to energy security and the transition to a sustainable economy. Three years after its listing, Hidroelectrica demonstrates that financial performance, consistent investments, corporate governance and responsibility towards shareholders are the foundations of sustainable growth and a relationship of trust built over the long term with the capital market.
