Top-level professionals and highly knowledgeable experts in the Romanian energy industry join the Jury to evaluate the candidate projects and people for the 11th edition of Energynomics Awards!

UPDATE We have extended the deadline for applications until 21 November! The candidate projects have been collected until November 14th, and for selecting the winners, the jury will examine each application based on three fundamental principles.

SUCCESS – the proposals should prove commercial success in the activity sector of the respective company.

IMPACT – the proposals must have a measurable impact on the energy sector, the community, or the economy as a whole.

INNOVATION – the proposals should have introduced the Romanian energy sector with certain products / services / innovative business practices which contribute to the healthy development of the business.

In the coming weeks, we will present each of the candidate projects in articles dedicated to each category on energynomics.ro. One of the registered projects will be awarded. However, each of the companies and all the people involved in these projects deserve our respect and the widest promotion possible.

The awards will be handed out to the winners in the special evening Gala on December 7th.

Awards and categories

The Energynomics Awards are celebrated annually, starting from 2013. The Awards have a symbolic character, i.e. it is non-financial award. Their primal aim is to recognize the excellence in the energy business, promoting the companies, ideas and people most consistent with the following criteria:

Corporate Social Responsibility

The award honours the company with the most important impact upon the community in which it operates (donations, sponsorships, responsibility towards the environment, other forms of CSR).

Energy Efficiency

The award rewards the company that implemented a remarkable energy efficiency project at national or local scale, by the amount of energy consumption reduction obtained, by the favorable impact to the business and the environment, by the financing attracted, and by the performance in communicating the project as a landmark model of good practice.

Deal of the year

The award honors the company that managed the most important procedure for purchase / controlling stake / merger / farm-in / farm-out. Among the analysis criteria: size and impact of the operation (based on the size of the original company), the development prospects of the company results, the degree of innovation.

Financing / Investment of the year

The award honors the company or companies that managed the most inventive and impactful funding and/or investment for the energy sector in Romania. Among the analysis criteria are the structure of the grant agreement, the value of the investment, the impact on the company, the anticipated growth for the business, and the benefits for the shareholders.

Best new-comer / Best turn-around

The award honors the company that came with the most interesting novelty this year: a new entrant in Romania, a domain extension, a new major-scale project, and unused technologies until today.

Manager of the year

The award honors the most innovative and inspirational manager in the industry. Among the analysis criteria: the executive proved leadership, contributed to the company’s growth, and introduced and implemented new strategies.

Outstanding Career Achievement Award

The award rewards a personality of the Romanian energy industry who has stood out in the last year through leadership skills, contributions to the development of the organization in which he/she works, has introduced and applied innovative business strategies, has shown a significant evolution in his/her professional career.

Outstanding Development

The award honors the company that has stood out by one specific accomplishment, something with great impact that raised the public attention and became a benchmark in the industry, throughout the year.

Young Energy Professional

This award category is open to all under 35 years old Romanian professionals with up to 10 years’ experience in the industry. The award recognises work and achievements this year that are relevant within the Romanian or regional energy sector.

Green energy achievement of the year

The award in this category highlights a notable and outstanding achievement in the field of green energy, representing a shining example of excellence and innovation towards a more sustainable and energy-clean world.

Best initiative for energy transition

The award rewards the company, organisation, or individual that has distinguished itself through concrete actions and measures taken to facilitate the shift from traditional energy sources to sustainable and renewable energy sources.

Distinguished Public Service Award “Mihnea Constantinescu”

The award honors an individual who best demonstrates dedication, efficiency, and effectiveness in public service, for increased public awareness, for outstanding performance in public administration, or by promoting important legal and policy frameworks relevant to the energy field.
