Gabriela Dan-Unterseth was appointed in the position of president, with the rank of state secretary, of the Black Sea Offshore Oil Regulatory Authority – ACROPO.

A graduate of the Geology Faculty in Bucharest, Gabriela Dan-Unterseth has a PhD in France. She worked for 14 years at one of the world’s major marine investigation companies, Fugro, where she has occupied various positions and engaged in international submarine infrastructure projects (telecommunication cables, power lines, pipelines, FPSO, LNG, offshore wind, etc). Since 2016, she has been involved in supporting the Union Save Bucharest – USB and later became a member of USR.

Gabriela Dan-Unterseth replaced Constantin Gheorghe as head of the ACROPO. Appointed in 2017, by PSD PM Sorin Grindeanu, Constantin Gheorghe was dismissed for a few months by PSD PM Mihai Tudose, in 2018. He returned to office shortly after.

ACROPO was established in 2016 by the law regarding the safety of offshore oil operations. One of the roles of the authority is “to oversee the compliance of operators and owners with the provisions of this law, including inspections, controls, investigations and enforcement measures”.
