Florin Frunză is the new CEO of MET Romania, Petre Stroe remains in the Board

MET Romania Energy announced that Petre Stroe has decided to retire as CEO and will be appointed non-executive chairman of the Board of Directors, while Florin Frunză is appointed the new CEO of the Romanian subsidiary of MET Group.

Starting with September 2, 2020, Florin Frunză is the new CEO of MET Romania, taking over from Petre Stroe the attributions to lead the local operations of the MET group.

Florin Frunză joins MET from OMV Petrom. He has worked for OMV Petrom since 2007 and was appointed CEO of OMV Petrom Gas SRL in 2015. From 2019, in parallel with his duties as CEO, he also acted as Vice President of Business Development for Downstream Gas. He has extensive experience in gas, electricity and renewable energy services.

In his new capacity as non-executive chairman of the board, Petre Stroe will also act as a adviser who supports the company’s business development objectives. He joined MET Romania in 2015 and played a key role in the dynamic growth of the company both organically and through acquisitions.
