PPC Energie launches PPC Ore Smart, the first electricity offer in Romania through which household customers can benefit from variable prices depending on the time of day, between March and October, so that consumption between 11:00 and 14:59 will be charged 59% less than the price level in other hourly segments and monthly intervals.
“Today we are launching the first post-cap offer with flexible tariffs based on time intervals in Romania, so that our customers can also benefit from a product adaptable to their lifestyle, as is the case in Western European markets. We created PPC Ore Smart to offer household customers the opportunity to streamline their electricity costs by planning their electricity consumption. They will have much lower prices, starting with 0.89 lei/kWh, with all taxes included, during the time interval in which electricity production from solar sources is very high. The offer not only comes with very advantageous prices, but also ensures the cleanest energy, thanks to the high share of renewable sources”, said Ionuț Dună, General Manager of PPC Energie.
Customers who can benefit from this offer are those for whom the distribution operator has installed a smart meter that can ensure segmented consumption measurement, during all intervals of the day.
The offer provides an active energy price of 0.313 lei/kWh, 59% lower than the standard price in other time slots, valid from March to October, daily, for electricity consumption between 11:00 and 14:59. For example, for a residential consumer in Bucharest, the final price with all taxes included, for this interval (March to October, between 11:00 and 14:59), is 0.89 lei/kWh.
During the period March to October, between 15:00 and 10:59, as well as during the period November to February, regardless of the time, customers will pay 0.767 lei/kWh for the active energy consumed.
For example, for a residential consumer in Bucharest, the final price with all taxes included, for the period March-October 15:00-10:59 and all intervals of the period November-February will be 1.44 lei/kWh.
PPC Ore Smart aims to encourage customers to adjust their consumption behavior to use as much electricity as possible around lunchtime, thus benefiting from lower prices. This type of contract can be useful for those who work from home or who can program the operation of various household appliances for this time interval – air conditioners, washing machines or dishwashers, electric ovens or other cooking appliances with electric power, or other household appliances with high energy consumption.
Customers with smart meters integrated into the smart metering system (SMI) who opt for PPC Ore Smart no longer have to transmit their index, and the bills reflect actual consumption.
Smart meters integrated into the SMI are installed by the distribution operator operating in a specific geographical area, according to an implementation calendar approved by the Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE).
