Regional Approach: Athens 2026

27 May 2026 @ 13:00 - 15:00

On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, starting at 13:00, Energynomics is organizing, at the National Museum of Natural History Goulandris in Athens (see the map here!), the conference Regional Approach: Athens 2026, a high-level B2B event dedicated to the Romanian energy market and the new wave of Greek investments contributing to its transformation.

The event is organized on the sidelines of the 11th edition of the HAEE Energy Transition Symposium, hosted by HAEE – Hellenic Association for Energy Economics, and within this framework Energynomics is coordinating a Romania-dedicated section aimed at facilitating dialogue, networking, and the identification of concrete collaboration opportunities between Romanian and Greek stakeholders.

Regional Approach: Athens 2026 is designed as a practical investment journey — from public policy signals and market entry to financing, risk allocation, technology choices, EPC delivery, and operations — with a focus on what Greek and Romanian investors and operators need in order to move from interest to signed deals and delivered projects.

CONTEXT

Regional Approach: Athens 2026 is the third Energynomics event organized in Athens and is part of the international Regional Approach series, launched to promote Romanian energy expertise abroad and to open new opportunities for bilateral cooperation.

The conference starts from a clear premise: the energy relationship between Romania and Greece can evolve from mutual interest and strategic dialogue toward concrete partnerships, investments, and joint projects. In a regional context where energy security, new infrastructure, renewables, storage, and flexibility are becoming increasingly important, the two markets have solid reasons to bring their agendas closer together.

The event proposes a practical, business-oriented approach, through which participants can better understand how the Romanian market works, where the main opportunities lie, which projects are currently in development, which areas hold collaboration potential, and what types of contacts and partners are relevant for the next steps.

At the same time, the conference reflects a broader strategic convergence across South-East Europe: regional gas infrastructure, LNG terminals, solar development, the need for storage, grid modernization, and the maturation of business models in the energy sector. From this perspective, Athens becomes the right setting for a serious conversation about Romania as a regional market in acceleration and about the ways in which Greek capital, technology, and expertise can find credible opportunities there.
