ENEVO Group and Kraftfeld to build 110 MW/220 MWh storage system in Drăgănești-Olt

    ENEVO Group and Kraftfeld have signed a contract for the construction of a battery energy storage system (BESS) with a power of 110 MW and a capacity of 220 MWh, in Drăgănești-Olt, Olt County, Romania.

    According to a press release, the project also includes connection to the high-voltage grid. The contract was signed at Intersolar Europe 2026. Kraftfeld is the project owner, and ENEVO Group will act as the EPC contractor, being responsible for the design, procurement and turnkey construction of the BESS system and the associated high-voltage substation.

    The system will have a nominal discharge power of 110 MW and a capacity of 220 MWh, which will allow it to store and deliver electricity according to market signals and the operational needs of the National Energy System.

    Construction is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026, with commissioning and commercial operation planned for early 2027.

    The Drăgănești-Olt project strengthens ENEVO Group’s position as an EPC partner for large-scale battery energy storage systems in Romania. It adds to a portfolio that now exceeds 1 GWh and includes storage projects under construction or already operational.

    Kraftfeld is a Vienna-based developer, investor and asset manager in the renewable energy sector, focused on large-scale photovoltaic and battery energy storage (BESS) projects in Central and Eastern Europe.
