Enel made the digital version of its Integrated Reporting 2020 available on its website. This tool allows the Group to describe, in an innovative way, its 2020 performance, the medium and long-term outlook, its strategy and its sustainable and integrated business model, in implementation of the “Open Power for a Brighter Future: we empower a sustainable progress” strategy, which inspires Enel in the creation of long-term value for and with all its stakeholders.

“Integrated Reporting 2020 is the new way in which Enel narrates its ability to generate sustainable value in the short, medium and long term for all,” said Alberto De Paoli, CFO of the Enel Group. “The new concept of stakeholder capitalism, which drives our actions, have allowed us to identify and understand the expectations of our stakeholders and to create an interactive and interconnected communications approach, which allows us to integrate the information available in our documents into a holistic vision of the Group and its value creation process through the sustainable business model.”

“Through shared storytelling, we want to describe Enel’s strategy and its sustainable and integrated business model in an innovative way,” said Ernesto Ciorra, Chief Innovability® Officer of the Enel Group. “By doing this, we can illustrate Enel’s vision that combines sustainability and innovation, where the drive for change and our people’s creativity steer the Group’s constant commitment, in harmony and synergy with all our stakeholders, the social context in which we operate, our industrial partners, the financial community, our colleagues. Only in this way can we truly create sustainable progress, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the UN.”

Enel has confirmed and strengthened the “Core&More” approach in its reporting system, which sees the Integrated Annual Report as the “Core” document, flanked by the in-depth and detailed “More” documents to meet the expectations of the various stakeholder categories. These documents include the Sustainability Report, the Financial Statements of Enel SpA, the Report on Corporate Governance and Ownership Structure and the Report on remuneration policy.

Integrated Reporting 2020 – Beyond Reporting Empowering Sustainable Progress, leverages on its digital structure, goes beyond the dimensions of individual reporting documents, making the most of their content with a view to circularity of information. Paths defined by relevant topic areas allow for interconnected and personalized navigation of the content based on the specific areas of interest and in-depth analysis, to discover the Enel Group, its sustainable business model, its strategy, its value creation process and commitment to combating climate change.

Enel also confirmed its leadership role in corporate reporting, adopting the new standards required by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the guidelines of the International Business Council (IBC) of the World Economic Forum (WEF), as well as the indicators required by the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB, in relation to Enel’s primary sector of reference, the “Electric Utilities & Power Generators Sector”). Furthermore, appropriate information was provided one year in advance as required by the EU Taxonomy.
