Electricity and natural gas have become most expensive during the last year

Electricity, natural gas, fuel and edible oil prices have risen the most in the last year, and October is the first month in which there has been no reduction compared to the same month of last year, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics released on Tuesday.

Between October 2020 and October 2021, electricity prices rose by 24.65%, natural gas by 46.07%, fuel by 23.51% and edible oil by 26.29%.

In terms of foods, in the last year the edible oil has risen the most – 26.29% and potatoes – 18.04%, but there have been no reductions, according to Agerpres.

In the category of non-food goods, in the last year the largest price increases were recorded for electricity – 24.65%, natural gas – 46.07% and fuels – 23.51%, without recording any reductions.

Since the beginning of 2021, the price of electricity has risen by 23.15%, of natural gas by 46.07% and of fuels by 21.38%.

In the case of services, the highest increases were recorded in other services (plus 7.03%), water, sewerage, sanitation (6.51%) and health care services (5.58%).

The annual inflation rate rose to 7.9% in October 2021, from 6.3% in September, as non-food prices rose by 11.39%, food by 5.25%, and services by 3.96%, according to data published on Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
