Electrica announces the completion of the competitive procedure for the selection of an EPC Contractor and the signing, by New Trend Energy S.R.L., its wholly owned subsidiary, of an EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) contract for the “Satu Mare 3” photovoltaic project.
The contract covers the construction of the photovoltaic park and the 110 kV electrical transformer station, as well as the provision of operation and maintenance services for a period of three years from commissioning. The total value of the contract is approximately 27.9 million euro, excluding VAT.
The “Satu Mare 3” photovoltaic project will have an installed capacity of approximately 62.5 MWp and is located in the vicinity of Doba commune, Satu Mare county. By signing the EPC contract, the project enters the actual construction phase. The investment contributes to the Electrica Group’s objective of developing up to 1 GW of renewable energy production capacity by 2030.
“The signing of this contract marks the transition of a new strategic project from the development stage to the execution stage. We are building, step by step, a portfolio of production assets that will support the growth of the Electrica Group and strengthen our position on the Romanian energy market. We are capitalizing on the capital raised through the green bond issue for investments that generate new production capacities, support energy security and create long-term value,” says Alexandru Chiriță, CEO of Electrica.
The financing of the investment costs related to the project will be ensured with priority from the funds raised by Electrica through the green bond issue carried out in 2025.
