E.ON Energie România put into operation a new fast charging station for electric vehicles, in the parking lot of the PENNY store in Fundulea, Călărași County, thus continuing the works for the implementation of the electric transport infrastructure on the route Constanța – Bucharest – Timișoara.

So far, E.ON Energie Romania has installed 18 such stations.

The last charging station provided by E.ON Energie Romania within the NEXT-E project is to be installed by the end of this year in Lugoj, Timiș County, within a partnership with PENNY.

The charging station from Fundulea has a maximum power of 77 kW. Thus, the average charging time of an electric car will be about 40 minutes for 80% of the battery. In the location is installed a fast charge station of 1×50 kW (direct current connectors CCS or CHAdeMO) + 1×22 kW (alternating current connector Type 2), which benefits from 2 parking spaces.

The initiative is part of the NEXT-E project, co-financed from European funds through the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) program through which E.ON Energie Romania aims to install 19 fast charging units for vehicles, while another 21 are to be installed by MOL, one of the partners in this project.

So far, through NEXT-E stations installed by E.ON Energie Romania, the owners of electric or hybrid vehicles have used approximately 38 thousand kWh of electricity and have traveled over 240 thousand km. Most of the charging took place at the stations in Suceava, Neamț and Iași.
