Dr. Eng. Ioan Iordache, researcher at ICSI Rm. Vâlcea and ICSI Business Director, Associated Teacher at UPB and Executive Director of the Hydrogen Energy Association in Romania, was elected President of the States’ Representatives Group — SRG (Group of Representatives of States) under the new partnership “Clean Hydrogen”, associated with Horizon Europe Framework Programme.

The SRG is the biggest group ever in the history of the joint undertaking with 27 members states and 4 associated countries, and they have unanimously voted for Ioan Iordache on the 19th January 2022 to be the chair of this group. Two representatives from Belgium and France were elected.

Ioan Iordache was nominated for the first time as a delegate to the SRG since 2008 (within FP7), and during the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme, he was Vice-President SRG/FCH2 JU.

The States Representatives Group (SRG) shall be composed of representatives of each Member State and country associated with the European Commission’s Horizon Europe Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (Horizon Europe).

The Group (SRG) has an advisory role for the Governing Board of Clean Hydrogen and the representatives act as an interface between the partnership and stakeholders in their respective countries. The Panel (SRG) examines the information and provides views on the progress of the research and innovation programme in Clean Hydrogen activities, compliance and compliance with objectives, coordination with national programmes, and much more.

The Clean Hydrogen Joint Undertaking is a unique public-private partnership supporting research and innovation in hydrogen technologies in Europe. ‘Clean Hydrogen’ will contribute to the European goal of climate neutrality by producing visible and quantifiable results in the development and expansion of hydrogen applications.

The partnership consists of three members: European Commission, Hydrogen Europe and Hydrogen Europe Research. The last two are organisations representing the European hydrogen and fuel cell industry and research.

The Partnership will contribute to the European goal of climate neutrality by producing visible and quantifiable results in the development and expansion of hydrogen applications. This will help develop several hydrogen technologies that contribute to the 2030 energy and climate targets and, most importantly, enable climate neutrality by 2050.

The meeting of the SRG delegates (Group of Representatives of States) on 19 January 2022 was the first of the “Clean Hydrogen” partnership and led to the adoption of the operating rules, the election of the President and Vice-Presidents, the state of play of the multiannual and annual work programmes (SRIA) and the work to be done under the new Horizon Europe Framework Programme.
