Delgaz Grid resumed power supply in most localities in Moldova affected by yesterday’s strong storms, when the wind speed reached 100 km/h in some areas.

During the evening of Wednesday, July 28 a.c., over 16,500 customers from 31 localities did not have electricity, but Delgaz Grid repaired most of the damages.

“We continue to work to replace 6 broken medium voltage poles, so as to restore the destroyed networks and restore the distribution of electricity in the localities: Mândrești, Unțeni and Soroceni in Botoșani County,” say Delgaz Grid officials.

In Botoșani County there were the most damages of the electric networks, the number of calls signaling the interruption of the electric energy or elements of the destroyed electric networks increased more than 30 times, compared to an ordinary day.

“We continue to work with our teams and contractors to remedy the faults in the low voltage networks, as a result of breaking the conductors or poles, by falling trees over the overhead power lines, to replace the transformers struck by lightning, etc.

”As in some areas the conductors are broken and there is a risk of reaching the ground surface, we draw attention to the danger of electric shock and burns posed by their touch in case of entry of people in their vicinity. At the same time, the damaged pillars, which are in a precarious balance, can generate serious accidents,” the company’s officials also added.
