DEER continues the modernization of the energy infrastructure through a large-scale project, essential for the safety and quality of the electricity supply in Oradea and the metropolitan area, company representatives announced.

With a total value of over 229 million lei, of which over 126 million lei is non-reimbursable financing through the Modernization Fund, the project “Modernization of 110 kV electricity distribution networks in the area of ​​Oradea Centru – Aeroport – Ioșia – Mecanica stations” brings direct benefits to over 100,000 users.

This investment will bring a wide range of benefits for Oradea residents, including: a distribution service at high quality standards, reducing network losses and increasing operational efficiency, adapting the infrastructure to the rapid development of the city and integrating the lines underground, for an improved appearance of the city.

Currently, the works are on schedule, without delays: approximately 83% of the 110 kV cables are already laid, most sections are up to 98–100% complete, and the modernization of the transformer stations is in full swing.

“An important moment has already been reached by putting essential equipment into operation in the Mecanica and Ioșia stations, marking the concrete progress of the project,” the information also states.

The completion deadline is May 2027, and the current pace confirms compliance with the implementation schedule, DEER representatives also showed.

“Through this investment, DEER is not only modernizing the network, but also actively contributing to the sustainable development of the municipality of Oradea, offering users a safer, more efficient and future-ready service,” the company’s information also states.
