As Romania accelerates its transition toward solar energy, the demand for reliable, high-performance photovoltaic solutions is rapidly intensifying. DMEGC Solar — a global Tier 1 module manufacturer backed by China’s industrial powerhouse Hengdian Group — is stepping up its investment across Europe with a clear focus on innovation, sustainability, and long-term partnerships. Now, with a growing commitment to Romania, DMEGC is poised to become a key ally for installers, engineers, and EPCs. We spoke with Cristian Balota, the company’s regional representative, to understand what DMEGC Solar brings to Romania’s evolving solar value chain.
DMEGC Solar has built a strong global presence and was recently confirmed again as a Tier 1 manufacturer by BloombergNEF. What would you say are the key values and technologies that support this consistent recognition?

Cristian Balota, DMEGC Solar’s regional representative
At DMEGC Solar, our consistent recognition –among others– as a BloombergNEF Tier 1 manufacturer stems from three core pillars: technology, quality, and long-term vision. We produce all our PV modules with high-quality materials, and we power 100% of our manufacturing sites in Yibin, Sihong, and Lianyungang with renewable energy since 2024. Our modules regularly rank among the top performers in third-party reliability tests such as Kiwa PVEL and TÜV Rheinland. Beyond performance, we invest continuously in innovation, from high-performance utility scale and products for the C&I markets to advanced Agri-PV solutions, by backing it up with our standard warranties. Social responsibility is verified through SA8000 and SMETA audits, ensuring ethical labor and health practices across our supply chain. We’re a proud member of the UN Global Compact, SolarPower Europe, and the Solar Stewardship Initiative, reinforcing our leadership in transparent, sustainable solar manufacturing.
For Romanian installation firms and engineers who may be less familiar with DMEGC Solar, how would you summarize the company’s main differentiators in terms of product reliability, performance, and innovation?
Romanian professionals can count on DMEGC for robust, long-lasting products that combine high efficiency with proven reliability. Our modules offer high resistance to extreme weather, such as hail (VKF Class 4 certification), and we have for instance developed compact dual-glass formats ideal for rooftops with limited space or retrofits. We’re also proud of our Infinity RT series, designed for C&I and utility applications with excellent aesthetic and technical performance. Innovation is embedded in our DNA, but it’s our stability and focus on partnerships that truly set us apart.
DMEGC is part of the Hengdian Group, a vast industrial conglomerate with decades of experience in magnetic materials and electronics. How does this industrial background influence the design and production of your photovoltaic modules?
The strength of the Hengdian Group gives DMEGC a unique advantage in vertical integration, material quality, and R&D capabilities. With decades of experience in advanced materials, electronics, and high-precision manufacturing, we bring a deep industrial foundation into solar PV. This translates into modules with tight quality control, excellent energy yield, and consistent performance across real-world conditions. Our customers benefit from the financial strength, supply stability, and innovation pace that only such a backing can offer.
With the growing appetite in Romania for residential and C&I PV installations, what types of panels and technologies from DMEGC’s current portfolio are best suited to our local market conditions — climate, grid requirements, and building typologies?
For Romania’s demanding market — from residential rooftops to industrial facilities — we offer a strong lineup. Our 450–500W full-black Infinity RT modules are perfect for homes prioritizing aesthetics and performance. For C&I installations, modules up to 625W offer high yield and hail resistance. The new compact 270W dual-glass modules (1.54 x 0.76m) are ideal for tight rooftops and retrofits. We also provide Agri-PV Greenhouse modules with various light transmission levels, supporting Romania’s agricultural electrification trends, nevertheless we can provide antiglare panels for specific requirements
Beyond product quality, after-sales support and logistics are crucial for installers and EPC contractors. How is DMEGC organizing its supply chain and technical assistance across Central and Eastern Europe, and specifically in Romania?
DMEGC is actively building a robust regional support structure. In Romania, we are establishing dedicated distribution partnerships and local warehousing options to ensure fast delivery times and project continuity.
Many final beneficiaries are concerned with long-term yield and sustainability. Can you tell us more about DMEGC Solar’s commitment to low carbon manufacturing, product recyclability, and ESG performance?
DMEGC Solar’s ESG and quality commitments span the entire value chain — from responsible sourcing to certified recyclability and low-carbon manufacturing. Certified for hail resistance, special applications such as floating PV, and fire safety, our products offer up to 30 years of linear power warranty, with just 1 percent first-year degradation and 0.4 percent annually. Dual-glass models come with a 25-year product and 30-year performance warranty. Backed by French low-carbon certification, DMEGC delivers long-term reliability and ESG performance that our partners can trust.
Finally, what are DMEGC Solar’s strategic objectives for entering the Romanian market in the coming 1–2 years, and what kind of partnerships are you looking to develop locally — distributors, EPCs, training programs?
Our goals for Romania are ambitious but realistic. In the next 12–24 months, we aim to secure long-term distribution partnerships, develop strong alliances with EPCs, and launch technical training programs tailored for local installers. We are a proud new member of RPIA which we joined to actively support the development of a sustainable renewable energy market in Romania. We also plan to participate in key national trade fairs and forums together with our distributors. Our key message is clear: DMEGC is here for the long run — in Romania and across markets in Eastern Europe. With me joining in February this year as the company’s representative for Romania, Bulgaria, and Ukraine, we are now intensifying our local presence, investing in local partnerships and support. Romanian stakeholders can rely on us as a trusted technology partner offering low-carbon, high-performance PV products backed by reliable logistics and technical support.
As Romania accelerates its solar journey, DMEGC Solar is not just entering a new market — we are here to co-create success stories, one project at a time.
