The Romanian Energy Center Association, in partnership with the Romanian Embassy in Denmark, with the support of the Romanian Ministry of Energy, the Danish Federation of Energy Industry and the Copenhagen School of Energy Infrastructure, organises on 3 May 2022 the largest dialogue between the representatives of the energy sectors in Romania and Denmark.

2022 began with an armed conflict at the borders of the European Union. It added significant pressure on the already existing energy price crisis and replenished the debate on Member States’ energy security, energy independence and the competitiveness of the bloc. Thus, projects on diversification of transport routes and energy resources, interconnection of European energy networks and markets, increased domestic energy production and energy efficiency have become urgent.

Each in its own region, Romania and Denmark play an active role in this debate. Both countries share the ambitions and plans proposed by Brussels for the transition to a low-carbon economy.

The event on May 3 is dedicated to connecting opportunities and projects in the energy field in Romania with representative companies, technology producers and good practices in Denmark. The main topics concerned are offshore and onshore energy, smart grids and interconnections, as well as district heating. Among the companies and organisations already confirmed in Romania are Hidroelectrica, OMV Petrom, Transelectrica, Transgaz, Termoenergetica, EnergoBit, Zamfirescu Racoti, Vasile and Partners, and the Association of Romanian Electricity Producers — HENRO. From Denmark, companies such as European Energy, Energinet, VEKS and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners have confirmed their presence.

The delegation program includes a conference, two technical visits and bilateral meetings between Romanian and Danish energy companies.

The conference will take place at the residence of the Romanian Ambassador in Denmark and will be broadcast online on the official channels of the event’s partners.
