The Competition Council authorized the acquisition of 50% of the share capital of Renovatio Engineering SRL by Greenvolt International Power SA, Portugal.

Following the transaction, Renovatio Engineering SRL will be owned by Greenvolt International Power SA, Portugal and RG Renovatio Group Limited, Cyprus.

Greenvolt is part of the Greenvolt Group, a renewable energy producer based in Portugal, active in the fields of biomass, solar photovoltaic projects and decentralized energy production.

RG Renovatio, Cyprus, mainly carries out activities specific to holding companies. The Renovatio Group is involved in the development of renewable energy projects, including engineering, procurement and construction services, asset operation, electricity trading and consultancy.

Renovatio Engineering SRL operates mainly in the field of electricity production, by providing related services and support.

Renovatio Engineering SRL owns ÎCS Energo Continent SRL, Moldova, active in the field of electricity production.

Following the analysis, the Competition Council found that this operation does not raise significant obstacles to effective competition on the Romanian market or on a substantial part of it and that there are no serious doubts regarding its compatibility with a normal competitive environment.

The decision will be published on the website of the national competition authority, after the removal of confidential information.
