Cogeneration solutions can be integrated with other sources, such as solar or wind, and they can be used both in the industry and residential sector to provide clean energy.

„The cogeneration solutions represent the support of renewables and vice versa, the renewables make the cogeneration solution greener”, Cristian Athanasovici, Business Development Manager, Kawasaki Gas Turbine Europe stated, at the conference “Regional Approach Sofia”, organized by Energynomics.

Athanasovici mentioned that the company’s approach on the EU’s energy market is based on four pillars, namely decarbonization, decentralization, digitalization, and distributed energy generation.

„The fourth one is very important because getting the energy source closer to the consumer reduces the losses in the transport network”, he added.

The company considers that hydrogen will be the main fuel of the future and the Japanese Kawasaki group is prepared to deliver the technology necessary for this objective. Kawasaki already uses, since 2018, natural gas and hydrogen in a power plant in Japan. The company has „a very ambitious roadmap for hydrogen”, according to Athanasovici.
