In a press release sent to the Bucharest Stock Exchange, Electrica informs shareholders and investors that during the meeting held on 5 May 2022, the company’s Board of Directors decided to revoke Corina Popescu from the position of CEO, “without cause, starting 16 May 2022”.

The Board of Directors has decided to appoint Alexandru Chiriță as interim CEO. The directors also asked the Nomination and Remuneration Committee “to initiate with celerity a recruitment process for the position of CEO”.

The press release concludes with a short thank you note from the Electrica’s Board of Directors for the work carried out by Corina Popescu within the Electrica Group.
